Six Student Athletes Commit to Colleges


San Marino celebrated six seniors who will be continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level next year. The Titans were honored at an all school assembly and were joined by their families, coaches, and loved ones.

Brady Beck- Football- University of Puget Sound 

Brady is a 3 year varsity football player and a 2 year starting varsity football quarterback. Brady threw for over 5,000 career passing yards with over 40 career passing touchdowns.  In addition, he was an  All-Rio Hondo League Quarterback, All-Cif Quarterback, team Offensive Player of the Year, and a team captain. 

 

Chloe Wang- Volleyball- Wellesley College

Chloe was a member of the SMHS varsity volleyball team for 4 years as a setter and opposite. She was recognized as the best all around team player in her Junior year and MVP in her senior year.  Chloe was the team captain for 3 years and accumulated roughly 1500 assists. Chloe was named 2nd team All-League during her junior season and 1st team All-League during her senior season.

 

Otis Tsai- Swimming- Carnegie Mellon University

Otis was a member of the school record setting 200 Medley Relay team. He is also the reigning league champion in the 100 backstroke; runners-up in the 50 free, a 2024 CIFSS finalist in the 50 free, an instrumental part of San Marino’s CIF runners-up finish 2023, a member of the reigning Rio Hondo League championship team, and has several top 10 San Marino all time finishes in numerous events.

 

Tianmei Wang- Tennis-  Stanford University 

Tianmei was a member of the 2021 CIF Division 1 championship team as well as the 2022 CIF Open Division championship tennis teams here at SMHS. Tianmei has also garnered many individual accolades, including prestigious championships at the Easter Bowl Spring Nationals, Winter Nationals, and the Clay Court Nationals.

 

Mitch Mooney- Football-  Brown University

 

Mitch was a 4 year varsity football player, 3 time Rio Hondo League Lineman of the Year,  4 time All Rio Hondo League selection, 2 time All-CIF, Team MVP and was named one of the captains on this year’s team.  In addition, Mitch has played four years on our basketball team and two years on the varsity.

 

Mark O’Mara- Swimming- Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Mark finished in the Top 3 in the Rio Hondo League 200 IM and 500 Free. He also swam in the 2024 CIFSS 500 Free finals and was an integral part of San Marino’s CIF runner up finish in 2023. Mark is also a member of the reigning Rio Hondo League champion team and a-top 10 san marino all time finisher in the 500 free.
